Soprano Shana Grossman was recently named the US Division Winner of the Anita Cerquetti 6th International Opera Competition and also placed third in the International Division. Other prizes include the Distinction Award for The Metropolitan International Vocal Competition - Opera Division and The Schuyler Foundation for Career Bridges award.
Ms. Grossman made her New York debut as Adele with Martina Arroyo’s Prelude to Performance production of Die Fledermaus in 2016. She returns this year to sing Frasquita in their production of Carmen.
Shana has made a splash in contemporary music debuting the Coordinator in Gulfshore Opera’s production of Speed Dating Tonight. Ms. Grossman sang the world premiers of Tyan in João Macdowell’s The Seventh Seal, Laura in Macdowell’s Cries and Whispers, and Mrs. Sarah Davenport and Jane Wright in Michael Ching’s Anna Hunter.
Since her tenure as Resident Artist at Nevada Opera in 2012, Ms. Grossman has had the opportunity to participate in many noted young artist training and development programs including The Ravinia Steans Music Institute, Savannah Music Festival, Music Fest Perugia, and Opera Experience Southeast.
Ms. Grossman holds a Bachelor of Music from the Peabody Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Brooklyn College Conservatory.
